The Sweet Potato

 

The Sweet Potato is a large, starchy, sweet-tasting, tuberous root and is also a root vegetable. The young leaves and shoots are sometimes eaten as greens. The sweet potato is only distantly related to the potato (Solanum tuberosum).

 

EASY QUICK RECIPE - Sweet Potato Fries

 

Ingredients
5 sweet potatoes, peeled & sliced similar to chips/fries
Oil
Salt, Pepper, garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika or cumin

 

Directions
Preheat oven to 220 degrees C.

1 Line a sheet tray with baking paper. In a large bowl toss sweet potatoes with just enough oil to coat.

2 Sprinkle spices! Spread sweet potatoes in single layer on the baking paper, don’t overcrowd. Bake until sweet potatoes are tender and golden brown, turning occasionally, about 20 minutes. Let cool 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
